Youth Empowerment Program: Makeup Artistry Training for Young Women
In a powerful step toward economic empowerment, OPK Foundation launched a one-week Makeup Artistry Training Program in Apeguso, in Ghana’s Eastern Region. This initiative equipped 32 young women from the Asuogyaman District with relevant, income-generating skills in the beauty industry—opening new doors for self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.
Led by experienced trainers and supported by local mentors, the program provided hands-on instruction in makeup techniques, client care, and business fundamentals. What truly stood out was the unwavering commitment of the trainees. Their passion and determination inspired our team to ensure the program was completed with excellence
Each participant graduated with:
- A completion certificate
- A starter makeup kit to begin their practice immediately
- Mentorship and networking opportunities during the program
More than just a training session, this project was a catalyst—giving these young women the tools, confidence, and community they need to build careers and support their families

BECE Support Initiative – Apeguso
In preparation for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), OPK Foundation stepped in to support students from Apeguso and its surrounding communities by providing essential stationery supplies. Recognizing that many families struggle to afford even basic academic tools, we aimed to remove that barrier so every candidate could face the exams with confidence and dignity.
Each student received a complete exam kit, including a math set, pens, pencils, rulers, and other key items needed for a smooth writing experience. These simple yet critical resources help level the playing field and reinforce our belief that no student’s future should be limited by a lack of access to essentials.
This initiative is part of our broader commitment to educational equity in Ghana’s Eastern Region. By supporting learners at pivotal moments in their academic journey, OPK Foundation continues to invest in the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and changemakers.
Clean Streets, Safe Nights: Sanitation & Streetlight Initiative
As part of our ongoing effort to improve public health and safety, OPK Foundation organized a joint sanitation and streetlight distribution exercise in Apeguso and nearby communities. The initiative brought together residents, local leaders, and volunteers in a united effort to create a cleaner, safer environment for all.
The sanitation drive focused on clearing waste, cleaning communal spaces, and promoting hygiene awareness among households. In tandem, we distributed solar-powered streetlights to key areas lacking reliable lighting—particularly along high-traffic paths and public gathering points. These installations are already making a visible difference, enhancing security and mobility at night.
This initiative reflects our belief that sustainable development begins with clean, well-lit, and functional communities. By addressing both environmental and safety concerns in one coordinated effort, OPK Foundation continues to build a foundation where families can live, thrive, and move freely—day or night.
